The IIS La Fe has joined the celebration of this day with the call for a drawing contest in which children have submitted their proposals on "What is a scientist for you?
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science was proclaimed in 2015 by the Assembly of the United Nations in order to achieve access and equal participation of women and girls in science, to work for equality.
In this line of breaking stereotypes, it is worth noting that at the Institute of Health Research La Fe, 73% of research staff are women. In fact, of a total of 347 professional researchers, 252 are women.
The drawings will be exhibited at the IIS La Fe until Friday 14 and after a popular vote will be established who are the winners.
This action is part of the project 'Your hospital investigates Science up close', led by the Area of Communication and Dissemination of Science and the Scientific Area of the IIS The Faith and funded by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
